How a Halo purchase works
- 1. A local seller lists an item with photos, a description, and their price.
- 2. The buyer finds the item on Halo and taps Buy.
- 3. The buyer completes checkout securely inside the app using any major debit card, mobile wallet, or credit card.
- 4. Halo holds the payment safely and the two sides agree a pickup time in chat.
- 5. The buyer confirms the item was received as described, and the payment is released to the seller.
- 6. Both sides rate each other, so the next person knows who they are meeting.
Common questions
How does pricing work?
Sellers set their own price, and the price you see on the listing is the price you pay. Buyers pay no extra fee. When you buy, your payment is held safely until you confirm you got the item.
Who are the sellers?
Sellers are local individuals and verified businesses listing items for local secure meetup pickup all across Canada.
How do I get my item?
After you buy, chat with the seller to arrange pickup. Your payment stays held in escrow until you confirm the pickup in the app, and is only released to the seller after that.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancel for free up to 2 hours before your scheduled pickup. Cancelling after that, or after the seller accepts, costs 15% of the order price (minimum $10, maximum $50). If the seller doesn't show up, you get a full refund.
How do I get a receipt?
An official transaction invoice statement is instantly emailed to your registered inbox via Resend the moment your escrow transaction clears processing.
Something went wrong with my order. What now?
Open the order and use Report a problem, or contact us below. We review every report and will follow up with you directly.
